Lost income after an accident: what should you compare?. General information.
Income loss involves more than a lower bank payment. Compare actual events with the likely course without the accident. Investigate separately which changes result from injury and what evidence is required.
Keep payslips, contracts and relevant hours or allowance agreements. Show which payments continue and which disappear, comparing matching periods. A one-off payment and regular salary do not show usual income in the same way.
A gross difference is not automatically the missing net amount. Ask which deductions, benefits and compensation were included. Expense allowances require explanation too: losing an allowance can coincide with no longer incurring that expense.
Renewal, career prospects and recovery may remain uncertain. Preserve concrete offers or training agreements without presenting them as a guaranteed career. Ask what medical, occupational or financial information is required before assessing a final calculation.
Distinguish current deficits from uncertain future losses. This helps discuss a possible advance while other issues are investigated. Our guide organises evidence and assumptions; a general online calculation does not determine your result.
